Tips on How Parents Can Support Teachers During Negotiations
Negotiations between the District and LTA have been ongoing since December 17, 2017. We have had 14 bargaining sessions and on October 4, 2018 both parties submitted paperwork to PERB declaring impasse.
Throughout the bargaining process, support from the Lynwood community has been strong. Parents, classified staff, and other community members have shown support by participating in informational pickets held at school sites and the District, and by attending Board Meetings and addressing Board Members and the public. Please read below for additional ways parents and community members can continue to support Lynwood teachers:
Email or speak to Superintendent Crosthwaite and LUSD Board Members about the importance of a fair salary, Health and Welfare benefits, and working conditions for LTA members.
Communicate with other Lynwood community members about the importance of attending LUSD Board Meetings and voicing your concerns about bargaining issues.
Continue to attend Board Meetings and participate in informational pickets with LTA members.
Join teachers before and after school at school sites for informational pickets.
