BARGAINING TEAM
Myrna Vergara – Chair
The purpose of the Bargaining Team is to represent membership while negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements.
GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE
Cherie Diaz and Debbie Diaz– Chairs
The purpose of the Grievance Committee is to represent the bargaining unit in negotiating the settlement of grievances.
SUPERINTENDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Debbie Diaz – Chair
The purpose of the Superintendent Advisory Committee is to meet with the District Superintendent to engage in meaningful discussions
and provide advice regarding major issues and concerns in the school district, and to seek ways to effectively address those challenges
for the improvement and overall success of the District.
ELECTIONS COMMITTEE
Joy Deyarmond – Chair
The purpose of the Elections Committee is to oversee state and local elections
and ensure all governing rules surrounding said elections are strictly adhered to.
BUDGET AND OFFICE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
Miguel Rodriguez – Chair
The purpose of the Budget and Office Oversight Committee is to monitor budgeted expenses against actual expenses,
and to make recommendations to the Executive Board for repairs, maintenance and improvements to the LTA office building.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT/SOCIAL COMMITTEE
Angela Porter – Chair
The purpose of the Member Engagement/Social Committee is to keep our members informed and engaged
through meaningful opportunities that promote our cause.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
Stephanie Aguon – Chair
The purpose of this committee is to develop and maintain effective communication processes throughout LTA.
ORGANIZING AND SAFETY COMMITTEE
Myrna Vergara – Chair
The purpose of the Organizing Committee is to coordinate organizing actions within LTA to demonstrate unity and engage the community in the pursuit of fair contract negotiations and a safe school environment, conducive to learning, for our members and students.
EQUITY AND ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
Daniel Gallegos – Chair
The purpose of the Equity and Advocacy Committee is to advocate for members of marginalized communities within LTA. It is composed of an At-Large Advocate who organizes other advocates and represents members of marginalized communities who may not be included by the three advocates. The three advocates represent our LGBTQIA+ Community, Women’s Issues, and Human Rights, which represents our most underrepresented communities, with specific focus on our African America community.
INSTRUCTIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Dr. Lydia Hollie JD/MAED – Chair
The purpose of this committee is to discuss and develop goals for improving instruction and professional development. This committee will inform the LCAP Committee of their decisions to ensure that the LCAP Committee represents the voice of all areas.
LCAP COMMITTEE
Debbie Diaz – Chair
The purpose of this committee is to represent LTA while collaborating with all stakeholders in the development of the District’s LCAP plan.
POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (PAC)
Not Active
The purpose of the Political Action Committee is to advocate on behalf of the professional needs of LTA members
serving in the Lynwood community. It will support candidates, incumbents, ballot propositions, and other measures
that advance the welfare of members of the Lynwood Teachers Association and the Lynwood educational community.
SPED COMMITTEE
Jorge Bravo – Chair
The purpose of this committee is to collaboratively develop plans to improve SPED instruction within our district and to provide input to the District SPED Committee.
CTA STAFF REPRESENTATIVE
Angel Maldonado – CTA Regional UniServ Staff
The CTA Staff Representative shall provide consultation and advice, as appropriate, to the
Officers, Executive Board, Bargaining Team and Grievance Committee. He/she shall
additionally provide CTA representation to members who require such services.
